Abstract:
In our study, we collect more than 38K Instagram posts from users who live in Guayaquil,Ecuador and propose a spatio-temporal analysis to identify daily visitor patterns for nine different points of interest categories. The spatio-temporal analysis reveals that urban neighborhoods with more diverse places (places belonging to different categories) will have a high number of visitors.

Carmen Vaca is a professor, researcher and co-director of the Big Data Research group at ESPOL. She obtained his Ph.D. in Information Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan. She did research stays at Yahoo! Labs Barcelona and the MaxPlanckInstitute in Saarbrucken. Her research interests: Political speech analysis, Natural Language Processing, Location based analysis.
